A SHORT HISTORY ON OUR COMPANY 

 

With a long road in designing clothes, accessories and even furniture behind us, we have created a new shoe with interchangeable leather uppers and would like to share with you the origin of this idea.

The whole idea arose as a result of the need of finding a practical and simple way of making several different shoes by using only one sole, that is to say by mounting on only one sole uppers of different colors and forms.  

 
In January 2009 we founded our company under the name of La Batanera. Our main objective, besides being a socially responsible company, is to design customizable and adaptable innovative products.  

 
Thanks to the support of CONACYT (the Mexican National Science and Technology Council) and CIATEC (the Leather and Shoe Technological Investigation and Consultancy Center), we have designed for the Bataneras a unique sole that incorporates the latest avant-garde ergonomic knowledge and the latest high technology for studying the biomechanics of the human foot. 

 

The interchangeable uppers used in our models are produced from goat skin, the finest and softest leather available in the worldwide shoe industry, and are carefully assembled with the utmost care in all cutting, sewing and lining  details. Our soles are lined with fine leathers and the best of both natural and synthetic textiles and materials.
